A research scientist in the faculty of Computer Science of Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania with over 10 years of experience in designing, implementing and testing industrial process automation solutions. Extensive experience developing software in C++ and C# languages on Windows platform. Wide theoretical knowledge of realtime process control. His reasearch findings have been presented at international conferences and published in referred archival journals.

Most Notable Achievements

  • Designed and wrote control software (PID, fuzzy, predictive control algorithms) for an industrial wood dryer, distillation columns and flow systems. Control software programmed with Concept, user interface – with WonderWare InTouch. Modicon controller was used.
  • Learning fuzzy control of water level, float and air pressure systems. Algorithms programmed with C++, C# and PLC languages, WonderWare InTouch. Beckhoff controllers were used. 
  • Fuzzy Hammerstein modeling of nonlinear level system. Recursive least squares and the genetic algorithms used to identify model parameters written in C++ and Matlab.
  • Created and wrote (C#) mobile technologies control and monitoring system. GSM mobile modems accept incoming calls and SMS, and then either respond to inquiry or perform requested task (e.g. open/close valves, etc.).
  • Smart House project at Kaunas University of Technology, 2003-2006. Developed learning control algorithms for heating and cooling systems in buildings using C++ and Windows.
  • Virtual control laboratory project. Developed data encryption and control software (C# and XML) to interface a control laboratory to the Internet.
  • Wrote (C++, C#) data acquisition and control software for house heating systems. 
  • Created and managed the “Innovative training of practical IT skills in post graduate studies” project, which was sponsored by the EU and the Lithuanian government, successfully passed evaluation, and is now being implemented at Vytautas Magnus University. The goal is to strengthen practical IT knowledge of students through special training, self studies, and virtual laboratories. Supervised a five person team.
